ELLISWICK CLOSED CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024 Saturday 9 March 2024 – Saturday 22 June 2024
The Tournament is open to Intermediate and Adult members of Elliswick LTC.
All matches to be the best of 3 sets. A standard 7-point tie break is to be played at 6-6 in the first two sets and a 10-point championship tie break will be played at 1 set all (except for Finals which will have a long third set, should it be needed).
It is the responsibility of both players to ensure that the match is played, not just the player last through to the round or the player highest in the draw. However, it is expected that the last person through to a round should immediately contact their opponent to arrange their next match.
Members can sign up to the Tournament from 2 February 2024 where signup sheets will be posted on the notice board. Closing date for entries is Sunday 3 March 2023. The draw will be published on Friday 8 March 2024 by email to all members. Draw sheets will also be posted on the notice board. If you are unable to sign up at the club house, please send an email to Louise Behan at the address below.
Once the entry closing date has passed, entering pairings/partners for the doubles events may not be changed, regardless of injury.
Matches up to and including semi-final stage must be played between 9 March 2024 and 18 June 2024. Courts are prioritised for matches at certain times – in particular, a court will be available for booking (only for match purposes), on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights during the tournament period. Players should book courts online in the usual manner – see website for details. Please book matches for 1.5 hours max.
Subject to any major disruption for weather, matches are to be played by the date stated for each round on the draw sheets. Failure to do this will result in one or both players/pairs being withdrawn from the tournament. Any issues contact Louise Behan as soon as possible.
Finals Day is Saturday 22 June 2024. Matches will be played both in the morning and in the afternoon. Finalists must therefore be available to play their matches in both the morning and the afternoon, otherwise they may default the title. In case of inclement weather on 22nd June 2024, finals day will be moved to Sunday 23 June 2024. Players wishing to play in the finals must ensure they are available to play on both days.
Any disputes should be referred to Louise Behan, the Tournament Secretary, whose decision will be final.
