JUNIOR NIGHT

A DAY AT WIMBLEDON
Our Club was invited by the All England Lawn Tennis Club to participate in its Centenary Clubs Tournament at the Wimbledon Championship Courts on 4th September. A total of eight clubs from all over England as well as Scotland and Wales, took part. Our Chairman, Eric Rovick, said, “The opportunity to play tennis on Wimbledon’s famous grass courts was fantastic. Andy Murray’s club from Dunblane played in the tournament and we had the pleasure to meet Jamie Murray on the day.”
CLUB NIGHTS & SOCIAL TENNIS
The autumn season is underway now. The summer club nights (men’s, ladies, mixed and juniors) have all come to an end. Thank you to those who help organised and run our club nights. However, our morning social mixed-in tennis sessions are still running on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am. Please do keep our social tennis vibrant by attending the sessions. All abilities are welcome. Just turn up and play.
GROUNDS & CLUBHOUSE
The clubhouse will undergo deep cleaning on Thursday 3rd October from 10am. Apologies for any inconvenience cause.
TEAM TENNIS
Ladies & Mens Teams
The summer seasons (Herts League and Hot Rackets) have now concluded, with some of the teams up for promotion. Our ladies 70s team played very well and are at the top of their Division. Men’s HL2 and HR2 are also on top of their divisions and will be promoted. Many thanks to fellow captains for their time and effort spent arranging the fixtures and finding players to represent our club. Also thank you to all those who played in the matches which we hope you all enjoyed.
Winter vets dates are all arranged and captains should reach out to their teams for selection. In Ladies teams, we have entered 1 team in 40’s and 2 teams in 50’s and 60’s. And in Men’s teams we have 3 teams in the over 45 and over 55 and 2 teams in the over 65 age categories. Best of luck to all our teams who are taking part.
Mixed Teams
We have entered 4 teams into the Datchworth league, which is now underway. The fixtures for the East Herts Winter mixed have also been released and our 6 captains are busy fixing their matches with the opposition. Thank you to all the captains for all their work in helping to make this league run so smoothly
